This vehicle has found a new home! However, we’d be happy to locate another one just for you. TrueWest Imports is very pleased to offer this great looking and performing example of a much sought after 1965 Chevrolet Impala Sports Coupe.
For 1965 Chevrolet’s full sized Impala received all new styling. Chevy’s new big car was both elegant and sporty by design. All GM full sized cars switched from the 50’s-style X-member frames to the so-called “full-perimeter” frame, which provided superior structural strength and better supported the large new bodies providing a much more quiet and comfortable ride. A large range of engine choices remained with up to 10 options available, including the ever famous “409”. History shows that Chevrolet had done it again and sold more cars than ever before with more than 2.4 million cars sold making 1965 the best yet of the decade, and the 1965 Chevrolet Impala set an all-time industry sales record of more than a million units.
This particular Impala Sport Coupe was repainted in a quality deep, deep 2 pack red enamel in 2001, the interior was stripped and completed custom destined and re-trimmed by the owner’s wife in black faux leather with grey accents.
The current owner has had the Impala for over 12 years and believes the odometer shows a genuine 61,400 miles. The last 5000 miles have been done since the rebuild.
In 2002, the Impala’s factory fitted 283 cu.in. (4.6L) motor was taken out of the vehicle and rebuilt with a competition cam, Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley carburettor and Holley Weiand Hi-Tek air cleaner, ACCEL ignition system and Sanderson headers.
A newer 350 turbo automatic transmission has been fitted and the rear end was also pulled and rebuilt as were the frontend and brakes.
New Wheels and tyres were also fitted:
Front: – 15×7 P235/60/R15
Rear: – 15×8 P275/60/R15
In addition to painting the Impala, the owner removed all emblems, the door handles shaved and a power antenna added.
To top off this restoration, the owner has dropped the Impala 3 inches.
This great looking 1965 Chevrolet Impala sport Coupe is not a show car but is a really great cruiser and runs and drives extremely well. It is guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go!
