TrueWest Imports is very happy to offer for sale this 1962 MGA 1600 Roadster that has undergone a complete frame off restoration.

According to Shannons, the ultimate version of the MGA is the Mark II.

“introduced in 1961 (the MkII) with an engine now displacing 1622cc and developing a healthy 90bhp and pushing the top speed out to 105mph. Readily identifiable thanks to the revised grille, now recessed with almost vertical slats and new tail light assemblies plus other minor trim changes (including seat-belt mounts), the Mark II also benefited from a higher final-drive ratio (4.1:1) and was considerably more relaxed to drive at speed as a result.”

The MGA was continually developed during its production lifespan (commencing 1955), culminating with the 1962 Mark II 1600. Fitted with a 1,622cc four-cylinder engine, the rise in horsepower (from the original 1489 cc engine producing 68 hp (51 kW)) was accompanied by front disc brakes.

Exterior
The restoration has been done to perfection and attention to detail. The factory “Chariot Red” finish is flawless. The MGA comes with a newly installed soft top and has sliding side windows rather than the typical soft-top’s side screens.

Interior
This car has an all new interior with black carpet and black leather on the seats. The instrument panel is exceptionally clean in appearance and functionality. The woodgrain finish on the dashboard that is typically British is spotless.

Engine and Driveline
The engine is a 1622 c.c. 4 cylinder rated by the factory at 90hp (66.2kW) @ 5500 RPM. 97 Ft-Lbs (132 NM) @ 4000 RPM. It is equipped with the factory twin SU H4 carburettors. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the undercarriage is very clean and solid. Front disc brakes and rear drums.

Wheels and Tyres
Factory optional centre-locking (“knock off”) wire 15″ x 5.6″ wheels on modern radial tyres. The spare is also mounted on a wire knock off wheel.

This is an opportunity to cruise in style in this iconic British sports car.

There are many more photographs of this very nicely restored MGA available on request.
